Things I Bought That I Barely Used ♡
Not every “must-have” product ended up being useful for us personally. A few items simply didn’t fit our routine, while others turned out unnecessary based on my postpartum recovery and feeding journey. Every baby — and every mom — is different, so these are just my honest personal experiences.
Frida Mom Perineal Healing Spray
I had a fourth-degree tear after delivery, but surprisingly I barely used this. My recovery went well naturally, so it ended up sitting unused most of the time.
Fisher-Price Breathing Otter
Many parents love this toy, but my baby personally never showed much interest in it during the newborn stage.
Fisher-Price Musical Play Mat
Another item that didn’t work for us. My baby simply preferred being held more than spending time on the mat during the early months.
Breast Milk Leak Pads
Because I struggled more with undersupply rather than oversupply, I rarely needed leak pads. I would personally recommend waiting to see how your feeding journey goes before stocking up heavily.
Nipple Shields
I bought these expecting breastfeeding pain, but I thankfully never ended up needing them.
Baby Car Mirror
I barely used this during the first few months because I usually sat beside my baby during car rides anyway. However, I do think it becomes much more useful later once babies grow bigger and parents start sitting in the front more often during drives.
Momcozy Carrier with Hip Cushion
This product mentions that it can be used from the newborn phase, but personally it did not feel suitable for my baby during the first months. Even around 3.5 months, she did not seem comfortable stretching her legs to both sides in this style of carrier.
In my experience, this carrier feels more suitable for toddlers or older babies with stronger body control. The hip cushion design may be helpful later, but it did not work well for us during the newborn stage.

Momcozy Newborn-Friendly Carrier
If I were choosing again for the early months, I would personally go for this softer ergonomic carrier style instead. It is suitable from 3–24 months and feels lighter, simpler, and more practical for smaller babies during the early stages.
VIEW NEWBORN CARRIER →One thing motherhood taught me very quickly is that babies are incredibly different. Some products become lifesavers for one family and completely unnecessary for another — and that’s completely okay.
