My Hospital Bag Checklist ♡

Welcome ♡

If you’re reading my blog for the first time, welcome. My name is Tanu, and I’m a first-time mom to my beautiful daughter, Mira. I started Mira & Co. because throughout my pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and early motherhood journey, I spent countless hours researching, comparing recommendations, and trying to figure out what was actually worth it. Everything I share here is based on my personal experience — what helped, what didn’t, and what I wish I knew sooner.

So grab a cup of tea, get comfortable, and let’s dive in ♡

I recommend preparing your maternity bag around 2–4 weeks before your expected date of birth. What should you pack in it? What is essential, and what can your escort bring only when you are ready to go home?

Documents & Important Records

  • Pregnancy certificate
  • Original blood type document
  • SAG / Streptococcus agalactiae test result
  • Health insurance card
  • Identity card
  • Marriage certificate, if needed for the birth certificate
  • Birth plan, if you have one

It is practical to pack your things in two different bags: one for childbirth and one for the postpartum ward.

1. For Childbirth

  • Medications you commonly take
  • Hygiene needs — shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, conditioner, serum
  • Toilet paper
  • Towel
  • Washable slippers
  • Easy snacks such as biscuits, grape sugar or chocolate
  • Drinks and snacks that are easy to digest
  • Slippers and snacks for your companion

2. For The Postpartum Ward

Little note ♡

For transportation home, I would keep things simple. Your escort can bring your civilian clothes, baby’s going-home outfit, car seat and stroller only when you are ready to leave the hospital.
